Plasma Research Laboratory
Physics Department,
Applied Physics Laboratory (Plasma Physics)
The Plasma Physics Group is also responsible to maintain and support four Applied Physics Laboratory experiments for Year 3 students. In this laboratory, each group of students (two per group) will do one Pulse Techniques experiment where the students will be acquainted with some basic pulsed electronic circuits such as LCR discharge, UJT and SCR which are commonly encountered by researchers in plasma experiments. For the second experiment, the students have the choice of either the Flash X-ray Tube Experiment, the Shock Tube Experiment or the Plasma Emission Spectroscopy. Each student spends 24 hours to complete two experiments in this laboratory.
