Our activities include:
1. Teaching
The
laboratory is currently running four experiments for the Year 3 Applied Physics
BSc programme offered by
the Physics Department,
2. Research
Our
research centres around four types of plasma devices:
- Dense Magnetized Plasmas
(Including Plasma Focus, Vacuum spark and Pulsed Capillary Discharge, ) - Transient Hollow Cathode Devices
(Including Flash X-ray Tube, Pulsed Electron Beam Source) - Low Temperature Low Density Plasmas
(Including DC/AC Glow, RF Inductively Coupled Plasma and Corona/Dielectric Barrier Discharge)
The emphasis of our research work is on the physics and applications of these devices.
